Senior Database Administrator | Oracle 19c | Cloud | DevOps | Multi-Platform We’re looking for an experienced Senior Oracle DBA who can own, optimize, and evolve enterprise database platforms that support mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate combines deep Oracle Database 19c expertise with modern cloud, automation, and DevOps practices to deliver resilient, secure, and high-performing database services at scale. This is an English speaking role. 2 days on site in Ghent, parking space provided. What you’ll do Design, operate, and optimize high availability and disaster recovery solutions aligned to RTO/RPO objectives Diagnose and resolve performance issues through instance and SQL tuning, optimizer analysis, and capacity planning Implement secure, compliant configurations (encryption, TLS, access controls, auditing) Own backup, recovery, patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime Define SLAs, monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks using Oracle Enterprise Manager and custom observability tools Drive cost optimization across on-prem and cloud environments Cloud, DevOps & Automation Design hybrid architectures and integrate databases within Amazon Web Services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, DMS, DataSync) Implement Infrastructure as Code and database lifecycle automation within CI/CD pipelines Build operational tooling and automation using Python Deliver repeatable, testable processes for provisioning, patching, backup validation, and environment lifecycle management Multi-Platform Experience Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB Apply consistent HA, performance, backup, and security principles across platforms Team & Leadership Thrive in Agile/Scrum environments with strong collaboration across engineering and product teams Mentor junior DBAs and engineers, promoting operational excellence and best practices Communicate clearly with stakeholders, translating technical tradeoffs into business impact and leading postmortems and capacity reviews Nice to have Experience with ORDS/APEX, SQL Server Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet Container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) Workflow orchestration with Apache Airflow Jira or similar delivery tools French/Dutch.
