In Tubize, you will join more than 300 colleagues recognized by domestic and international partners for expertise on products such as Radio Frequency (RF) Products, C4ISR, Crypto Global Solution, MACS (Aeronautical Intercom) and many others.

Your mission
You will be part of the Innovation team of the company. You will be developing Proof-of-concepts in the context of various R&D projects. In particular, you will deploy data processing framework & develop artificial intelligence algorithms (Deep learning, Reinforcement learning). You will also contribute to the development of AI within Thales Belgium. You will be included in a team of both internal colleagues & external partners.
The working language is English, French is an asset.
Main Responsibilities
The data & AI scientist will be involved in a series of Proof-of-Concepts aiming at demonstrating the feasibility of introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the development of various capabilities for future products. Your task will be:
1. to collect &/or emulate data;
2. to develop software allowing to process these data and make them usable by our AI;
3. to elaborate and train AI models and share this expertise with Eurocontrol by coaching junior data scientists within the team.
4. to participate in the development of AI within Thales Belgium, e.g. by building & operating an AI lab.
5. to write technical reports.

Technical:
6. Experience and good knowledge of Python (tenserflow/keras, pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, matplotlib),
7. Experience and good knowledge of SQL querying.
8. A good knowledge of common statistical models and machine learning algorithms used in data science.
9. Understanding of HADOOP/Cloudera framework, inclusive HDFS, HIVE, IMPALA, SPARK ,…
10. Experience and good knowledge of Linux OS and scripting techniques (Bash/Ksh)
General:
11. Excellent presentation and communication skills.
12. Experience with writing reports and publications related to AI topics in MS Word and/or LateX.
13. Ability to understand business needs and analyze data
14. A Master’s degree or PhD in data science with option AI, or relevant experience
15. Fluency in English is mandatory.
