We're looking for a sharp, pragmatic, and autonomous In-House Counsel to join our growing Brussels-based legal team and support our global expansion. You will play a key role in managing legal operations, shaping strategy, and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
* Lead legal operations: oversee core legal processes and ensure smooth, compliant execution across the business.
* Streamline documentation: structure, organize, and centralize legal documents to improve accessibility and consistency.
* Strategic collaboration: partner closely with the VP of Legal to support day-to-day priorities and contribute to long-term legal strategy.
* Lease & contract management: tailor lease agreements to align with the company's mission and brand; draft and manage a variety of commercial contracts.
* Project ownership: independently lead key legal initiatives, including GDPR compliance, insurance, corporate governance, and member-related matters.
* Cross-functional support: advise and support City Managers on legal and governance issues across multiple countries.
* Member-focused advice: act as a legal point of contact for members, ensuring clarity, fairness, and resolution of issues.
Profiel
* You have a Belgian Master's degree in Law, with strong expertise in civil, commercial, and corporate law.
* You have at least 5 years of experience as a lawyer in a top-tier law firm or as an in-house counsel, with a track record of managing projects independently.
* You are a problem solver with a pragmatic and innovative mindset, always looking for smart solutions.
* You're a self-starter who thrives on autonomy, assesses risks effectively, and knows when to escalate matters to senior management.
* You're a trusted team player, seamlessly collaborating with cross-functional teams and bringing people together.
* You love fast-paced, dynamic environments where tight deadlines and pressure drive you to perform at your best.
* You have excellent communication skills in both English & French and can explain complex legal concepts in a simple, engaging way.
