We’re looking for our next Senior Network Administrator. Could It Be You?
The purpose of the Senior IT Network Administrator is to design, implement and operate Questrade Global Enterprise Network and Cloud Infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Effective design, provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of multi‑vendor network hardware, software, and related infrastructure in heterogeneous complex environments (mostly Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet devices).
* Design, implement, and support a functional global network, including data center, LAN, campus, WAN, WLAN, IPSEC, VTI, and cloud interactions.
* Support and maintain various L2/3 routing protocols – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VXLAN, STP, and other L2/L3 technologies.
* Create and maintain project and procedure documentation.
* Manage network using monitoring, performance, and configuration tools such as SolarWinds.
* Automate routine network operational tasks.
* Participate in network performance improvements, capacity planning, and scaling.
* Manage third‑party vendors and service performance.
* Provide Tier 2–4 level support for network infrastructure.
* Participate in office network building and expansion from acquisitions and mergers, data–center migration, and disaster–recovery orchestration.
* Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule, performing network change management, software upgrades, maintenance updates, and after‑hours technical support.
* Mentor junior network administrators.
* Conduct technical research and development to enable ongoing innovation of on‑premise and cloud infrastructure.
Qualifications
* 5+ years experience as Senior Network Administrator/Engineer in a mid to large‑scale (up 1000 devices) environment with exposure to Cisco platforms (routers, switches, firewall, ISE), Juniper and Fortinet firewalls and Cloud Networking.
* Professional certifications (CCNP/CCDP, Cloud, Juniper and Fortinet).
* Hands‑on experience in any Cloud provider (Google preferred).
* Hands‑on experience working with various L2/3 routing protocols – e.g. STP, 802.1Q/X, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPSEC.
* Hands‑on experience working with Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls.
* Solid experience with Network administration and architecture.
* Strong complex network troubleshooting skills.
* Strong documentation and presentation skills.
* Eager to learn new skills and develop new techniques.
* Strong attention to detail, comprehensive problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Must be able to effectively follow procedures and policies.
* Ability to work independently or under minimum supervision.
* Disaster Recovery/High Availability experience would be an asset.
* Experience in regulated environments is an asset (SOC, ISO27001, NIT, PCI) including escalations, change and incident management.
* Experience presenting and influencing technology strategy with executives through developers.
* GCP is an asset.
