Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical / E&I)

A chemical production site in the Antwerp region is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support reliability and maintenance activities across the plant.
The team is looking for practical engineers with either a Mechanical or E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) background who are comfortable working close to operations, troubleshooting issues on site and supporting day-to-day maintenance activities within a live production environment.
Role Responsibilities
* Support maintenance and reliability activities across the chemical production site
* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical or instrumentation-related issues
* Analyse faults and implement structured problem-solving approaches
* Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to minimise downtime
* Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities
* Investigate recurring technical issues and contribute to long-term improvements
* Coordinate with technicians and contractors during maintenance and shutdown activities
Requirements
* Background in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering
* Strong hands-on experience within industrial maintenance environments
* Practical troubleshooting mindset with the ability to solve technical problems in a structured way
* Experience working within chemical, process or heavy industrial environments is preferred
* Comfortable working onsite within an operational production plant
* Strong communication and coordination skills
* Dutch required
