Role Overview As a GenBI Consultant at KPMG, you will help design and deliver next-generation business intelligence solutions powered by semantic understanding and generative technologies. You will work closely with clients to bridge the gap between data, business context, and advanced analytics, enabling them to “talk to their data” and derive actionable insights. This role sits at the intersection of data strategy, semantic modeling, BI tools, and AI-augmented analytics. Key Responsibilities Translate business questions into reliable, structured semantic logic that supports both traditional BI reporting and generative, conversational analytics. Develop impactful dashboards and visual analytics solutions (e.G., in Power BI, Tableau) that translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. Design, build and refine semantic models and knowledge layers that power GenBI solutions (definitions, business terms, relationships, synonyms, etc.). Apply strong data storytelling principles to craft compelling narratives around data. Ensuring insights are contextual, relevant, and aligned with strategic business goals. Validate GenBI results against traditional BI deliverables (Power BI, Tableau, SQL reports) to ensure accuracy and alignment. Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and AI teams to ensure consistency across data products. Contribute to building internal capabilities, sharing knowledge, developing learning paths, and experimenting with emerging trends. Skills & Qualifications 3–6 years’ experience in BI, analytics, data modelling, or a related environment (consultancy experience is a plus). Proven experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or Looker and strong understanding of data models and data structures. Hands-on experience with semantic modelling, conceptual/business data definitions or similar frameworks (preferred). Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with data warehouses, data governance practices and BI best practices. Understanding of AI-augmented analytics, natural language querying and GenAI concepts (e.G., Copilot, prompt-based BI) is a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to translate technical insights into business impact. Fluent in English & Dutch ; French is a plus.
