Overview
Join our team in Belgium as a Senior Workplace Engineer, responsible for delivering, supporting and evolving digital workplace environments in a global context. This role combines strategic responsibilities—architecting scalable solutions and managing vendor relationships—with hands-on technical support (Level 1 and 2 issue resolution). The role includes direct people management of a team of 3 digital workplace engineers.
Responsibilities
* Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for complex technical issues, especially within Microsoft 365 and collaboration platforms.
* Lead deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of workplace technologies and endpoint devices.
* Architect secure and efficient digital workplace solutions aligned with organisational goals.
* Manage Microsoft 365 productivity tools (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Automate).
* Administer and optimise endpoint management systems (Intune a plus).
* Automate tasks and processes using scripting tools like PowerShell and Power Automate.
* Guide a local team in implementing global workplace strategies and governance.
* Develop and manage a team of 3 digital workplace engineers, fostering collaboration and high performance.
* Conduct performance monitoring, trend analysis, and prepare operational reports.
* Develop and deliver training and onboarding content for end-users.
* Lead ITIL-aligned service management processes and ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
* Build and manage relationships with vendors, negotiating service contracts and ensuring quality delivery.
* Maintain and evolve documentation, support procedures, and process standards.
What we’re looking for – Qualifications
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in workplace engineering, including user support and global IT operations.
* Expert knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite and endpoint management tools (Tanium is a must).
* Strong troubleshooting experience with Microsoft environments and device security practices.
* Advanced scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Power Automate).
* Proficient in ITSM tools like ServiceNow and familiar with ITIL v4 practices.
* Fluent in English and Dutch/French (additional languages a plus).
Must-Have Certifications
* Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102 + required Associate cert)
* Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900)
* Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) – strongly recommended
* Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) – a plus
