Medior / Senior Business Consultant Energy & Utilities

Role Overview
We are looking for a Medior or Senior GIS Consultant to deliver consulting services to a leading Utilities customer in Wallonia. This role is highly client‐facing and requires a strong mix of technical GIS expertise, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate business needs into practical geospatial solutions. You will work on‐site with the client, supporting their operational and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted GIS consultant to business and technical stakeholders
* Run workshops, gather requirements, and advise on best‐practice geospatial solutions
* Design, configure, and optimise GIS applications used across the utilities environment
* Develop and manage spatial datasets related to network assets and infrastructure
* Support system integrations between GIS and enterprise platforms (e.g., asset management, field mobility, work orders)
* Troubleshoot GIS issues and provide hands‐on expertise to end‐users and project teams
* Deliver documentation, prepare presentations, and guide the client through solution adoption
* Contribute to roadmap discussions, solution design, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
* 3–7+ years of experience in GIS consulting or GIS project delivery
* Strong experience with ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise) or similar GIS tooling
* Solid knowledge of spatial data modelling, geoprocessing, and geodatabases (PostGIS, GDB, etc.)
* Experience within the utilities sector (gas, electric, water) is strongly preferred
* Ability to translate business needs into technical GIS solutions
* Experience working directly with customers in a consulting or advisory capacity
* Familiarity with Python, FME, or scripting for GIS automation (especially for senior roles)
* Excellent communication skills; ability to engage stakeholders confidently in French
Nice to Have
* Experience with Utility Network models
* Knowledge of web mapping, APIs, or GIS integrations
* Background working with ETL pipelines for spatial data
* Prior consulting experience with enterprise clients
