In this role, you will be responsible for the operational support, lifecycle management, and IT infrastructure of computerized lab systems used across QC, MSAT, and Manufacturing departments. You will work in both GMP and non-GMP environments and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including QA and Validation. The position combines hands-on technical work, regulatory-compliant system management, and cross-functional collaboration in a highly regulated setting.
Responsibilities
* Manage the full lifecycle of computerized lab systems (QC, MSAT, and plant environments), including architecture design, implementation, maintenance, and decommissioning activities.
* Develop, implement, and maintain installation procedures and detailed architecture and design specifications for lab systems, based on best-practice configurations from vendors and third parties.
* Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for lab applications and associated infrastructure, including troubleshooting, performance analysis, and routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
* Ensure backup, restore, and disaster recovery plans are in place, properly maintained, and periodically tested for all systems to guarantee business continuity.
* Support validation and qualification activities for GxP lab applications, reviewing and approving GMP installation and configuration procedures while ensuring data integrity and compliance with corporate and local ITS/GMP procedures.
* Work closely with QC, MSAT, MFG, QA, Validation teams, vendors, and corporate Digital teams, maintaining regular contact with international colleagues across multiple sites.
* Provide IT expertise to QA and Validation departments and assist in documenting architecture and design specifications for GMP lab systems in a structured and compliant manner.
What skills do you bring to the table?
* Experience working with Microsoft OS, including Windows 10 and 11, with Microsoft Server 2016, 2022, and 2025 considered a plus in complex laboratory or manufacturing environments.
* Strong understanding of networking and infrastructure topics such as TCP/IP, Active Directory, Antivirus, remote administration, and IT infrastructure within corporate or regulated contexts.
* Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Microsoft systems and applications supporting computerized lab systems in GMP and non-GMP environments.
* Ability to use scripting tools such as DOS command line, VBScript, and PowerShell to support, automate, and optimize operational tasks on lab systems.
* Proven ability to write detailed, accurate technical specifications and installation instructions suitable for regulatory audits and internal quality review processes.
* Knowledge of GMP, GAMP5, and CFR 21 Part 11, as well as validation and qualification methodology, combined with a clear commitment to data integrity principles.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented, flexible, and well-organized working style suited to both independent and team-based work.
* Demonstrated ability to take ownership and initiative with minimal oversight while collaborating effectively with QC, MSAT, MFG, QA, and Validation stakeholders in a structured manner.
* Fluent in Dutch and English, with prior experience in a similar GMP lab systems support role as a big advantage
