Your position
As a Surety Underwriter with a focus on risk and commercial aspects at Credendo - Guarantees & Speciality Risks, you are responsible for conducting financial analyses, assessing surety risks, and implementing appropriate actions to support clients while minimizing potential losses for the company. The goal is to develop to a role balancing underwriting skills with active client contact and the opportunity to prospect for new business opportunities.
Your responsibilities:
1. Conduct in-depth credit risk assessments for the Surety business line, analyzing financial data and market dynamics.
2. Build and maintain client relationships, identify opportunities, and tailor solutions to meet their evolving needs.
3. Negotiate with clients, brokers, and partners to deliver value-driven, risk-aligned outcomes.
4. Underwrite contracts and manage bonds, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with underwriting guidelines.Monitor and mitigate risks throughout the full insurance cycle, including potential claims phases.
5. Provide input into the development of new products and improvements of existing offerings.
6. Support or take part in decision-making processes, offering well-researched proposals for various risk levels.
Your profile
7. A university degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Science.
8. At least 2 years of proven experience as a Credit Analyst, Risk Underwriter or similar (within risk department or associate front office department).
9. Proficiency in using IT tools and systems.
10. Fluency in French and English (C2 level), with at least basic knowledge of Dutch.
11. Solid understanding of financial analysis and basic accounting principles.
12. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and integrate diverse sets of information.
13. Well-developed negotiation and interpersonal skills.
14. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
