About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Specialist Office 365 for our client, a forward-thinking organization in Ghent, to architect, implement, and govern a robust Microsoft 365 environment. This freelance assignment runs for 10 months and is designed for a builder who thrives on shaping digital workplaces at scale. You will be the driving force behind the next evolution of M365, ensuring governance, security, and adoption are world-class.

What You'll Be Doing
* Analyze business needs and translate them into a scalable M365 architecture (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Viva, Purview) or recommend alternative solutions
* Design and deliver a phased roadmap, prioritizing initiatives, managing dependencies, and assessing change impact and risk
* Establish and roll out IT governance for M365: lifecycle policies, sensitivity labels, data classification, role management, provisioning, retention, guest access, data sharing, and Power Platform governance
* Lead the introduction of Copilot, providing both functional and technical input on licensing, security, data readiness, user onboarding, and adoption
* Shape the Power Platform governance model, including DLP policies, environment management, maker enablement, and monitoring
* Advise management, IT, and business stakeholders in clear, actionable language—delivering roadmaps, decision papers, and risk assessments
* Act as a comprehensive point of contact and sparring partner for business teams, security, architecture, application administrators, and IT operations
* Provide operational and user support, document procedures and manuals, and monitor services to ensure optimal performance
Technical Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years' demonstrable experience as a functional analyst with business-critical or large-scale applications
* Proven track record in designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft 365 environments in medium to large organizations
* Deep expertise in Office 365, including SharePoint, Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Purview
* Hands-on experience with Copilot roll-out and adoption
* Strong knowledge of Power Platform governance and DLP policies
* Experience with Web Services & APIs
* Demonstrable ability to execute programming assignments efficiently: coding, testing, and debugging
* Operational support experience: user support, documentation, monitoring
* Solid understanding of business processes and how they intersect with M365 solutions
* Proven experience with Agile development methodologies
Language Proficiency
* Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is required
