Are you an R&D expert in the field of Battery Packs? Want to use that expertise in a role that will prove strategic in influencing development of products for our client?
I am currently working with a Specialty Chemicals manufacturer that is looking for a key piece in the team that will be the link between their materials chemistry team and automotive and OEM manufacturing clients from an Research, Design and Development perspective.
The structure in question holds a formidable reputation in the engineering of materials for insulation and acoustic use, and is currently growing their activity specialised in the Battery Packs for EV's field. This is where you come in, as an R&D key player.
Your Responsibilities
* Monitor market trends and technological advancements in battery pack design (cell pads, holding pads, insulation materials, thermal management components…).
* Act as an internal and customer-facing technical expert, engaging confidently with OEM battery specialists.
* Translate customer needs and battery system requirements into clear R&D objectives and development roadmaps.
* Bring a hands-on mindset to application trials and industrialisation activities, ensuring concepts can be successfully transferred to production.
* Work closely with the chemical R&D team to develop and adapt polyurethane and non-PU material formulations for battery applications.
* Support and advise on chemical and physical testing, while helping to create new testing methodologies where needed.
* Lead R&D projects according to internal project management frameworks, ensuring on-time delivery and technical excellence.
Your Profile
* Proven experience with battery pack applications for electric vehicles (materials, integration, safety, insulation, thermal management, or similar).
* A Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related technical field.
* Good working knowledge of polymer materials (especially polyurethanes) as well as an understanding of functional materials used in EV battery systems.
* Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch is a welcomed asset.
