Team description
The Vehicle Production Engineering (VPE) Division supports the introduction of new vehicle models into Toyota’s European manufacturing plants.
Within VPE, Press Production Engineering leads development activities such as:
1. New vehicle planning
2. Design for manufacture
3. Production line set-up
4. Introduction of press tool and equipment for mass production
This role is based at Toyota’s Zaventem Technical Centre – Brussels
Your responsibilities
As an Engineer in Stamping PE, you will help shape the future of mobility by preparing new vehicle and production concepts for mass production. In this role, you will:
5. Die Face development in CATIA V5 and define & develop stamping processes in line with Toyota Standards.
6. Utilize digital forming simulation tools (. AutoForm, Ansys) to create/optimise processes and predict potential defects.
7. Lead the design review and validation of stamping parts, stamping dies, tools, and press equipment in cooperation with internal teams and external suppliers.
8. Coordinate try-out and production trials, analyse forming results, and implement effective countermeasures for issues such as springback, wrinkling, or cracks.
9. Work closely with Body Engineering, Production, and Quality departments to ensure part feasibility and manufacturability.
10. Support mass production readiness by ensuring process capability and tool reliability.
11. Contribute to the continuous improvement (Kaizen) of stamping processes, tool maintenance standards, and production efficiency.
12. Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, periodical progress reports.
13. Share technical know-how and provide engineering support across Toyota’s European manufacturing sites.
14. Explore and introduce innovative manufacturing technologies—including digital tools, automation, and virtual reality applications—to improve workflows and support Toyota’s vision of the factory of the future.
Your Profile
15. The employee is open to international assignments and will join training programs at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey during the first two years of employment.
16. Proficiency in Catia V5, AutoForm, or equivalent CAD and simulation software is a strong asset.
17. An engineering background (or equivalent experience), ideally with exposure to die manufacturing.
18. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel within the Office 365 environment are preferred.
19. Ability to manage technical data effectively (3D data, drawings, and records).
20. Fluency in English; knowledge of Japanese is a plus.
21. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
22. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multicultural team.
23. A proactive, hands-on approach with curiosity for new technologies and continuous improvement.
24. Openness to short & long time business trips & occasional weekend work at manufacturing plants (outside Belgium) to support key project milestones.
