As Group Internal Auditor, you establish, develop and evaluate the internal controls of reporting, costs and investments and the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes and operations.
1. Based on a continuous independent risk assessment and the input of the executive committee, the audit committee, corporate and area management, you develop a comprehensive annual audit plan. You als stay updated on and incorporate any new or increased compliance requirements in your audit plans.
2. To make sure the company meets its objectives in terms of internal controls, cost controls and the organization of business processes, you undertake internal audits, report on control deficiencies and make recommendations to mitigate risk and add value.
3. You challenge current processes across the company and identify opportunities for improvement, maximally taking advantage of new technologies and tools, while also following up on remediation of identified issues.
4. Through actively maintaining and reviewing policies & procedures, you help ensure that these remain relevant, effective and aligned with evolving business needs and industry best practices.
5. In this role, communicating effectively with a variety of internal & external stakeholders, including the external audit team will help with aligning internal control findings and audit work.
6. This role is based in our HQ in Lembeke and reports into the Controlling & Audit Director
To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have:
7. A strong academic background with a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Engineering.
8. Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create trust with stakeholders, next to a very analytical and process oriented mindset.
9. Good business insights with the ability to prioritize findings and recommendations, in combination with extensive reporting skills both written and orally.
10. Traits like accuracy, detail-focus, autonomy, process-minded and integrity come naturally with the ideal profile for this role.
