Structural Engineer & Autodesk designer with an ambition to grow into leadership roleLocation in Belgium, working at our head office in 1400 Nivelles, under the direct supervision of the CEO & COOKey ResponsibilitiesStep 1 – Join and Contribute as Team MemberWork hands-on alongside the engineering team to understand workflows, tools, and technical challenges.Take part in structural calculations, drawings, and design tasks, ensuring high-quality deliverables.Build credibility within the team by actively contributing to day-to-day engineering work.Step 2 – Grow into LeadershipGradually take on coordination responsibilities, supporting planning, task allocation, and project follow-up.Support colleagues with technical guidance, sharing knowledge and best practices.Begin to structure documentation and competences to build a stronger engineering knowledge base.Step 3 – Lead and Organize the DepartmentTake responsibility for hiring, onboarding, training, and performance development of engineers.Plan, organize, and direct engineering projects, ensuring delivery on time, budget, and quality.Conduct design reviews with stakeholders to validate manufacturability, installation feasibility, and compliance with standards.Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality across the department.Shape the long-term ambition of the Design & Engineering department: extend its scope beyond static calculations and structural verification to cover all SpanTech accessories, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing solutions, and acoustics.Essential SkillsLearning Mindset: Willingness to first “do the work” to fully understand the team’s tasks and challenges.Leadership Potential: Ability to grow into a leadership role, gradually taking responsibility for people and projects.Technical Expertise:Strong knowledge of structural calculations (preferably SCIA).Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor).Familiarity with PDM systems (Vault is an asset).Communication: Ability to interact clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Languages: Fluency in English; knowledge of French, Dutch and/or German is a strong plus.Project & Time Management: Solid ability to prioritize, plan, and meet deadlines.Civil/mechanical engineering background with 4-7 years experience is requiredSalary range:gross salary in the €70k–€85k range, with clear progression toward €90k–€95k+ as the individual ramps up leadership responsibilities and ownership of the full department's scope.
