To support their organic growth & the acquisition strategy, the company is currently looking for a Business Controller to oversee operations across different subsidiaries & countries.
Reporting directly to the Head of Controlling, this role plays a key part in monitoring performance, supporting decision-making, and driving improvements across the organization.
The Opportunity
As Business Controller, you will play a key role in monitoring, analyzing, and improving the financial and commercial performance of operations. You will act as a true business partner, supporting management through high-quality insights and data-driven recommendations.
* Manage monthly closings, annual budgeting process and forecasts.
* Analyze commercial and financial performance and ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial statements, in close collaboration with Corporate Finance.
* Prepare and comment on monthly, quarterly, and annual results for performance reviews with the business.
* Coordinate budget preparation and forecast updates, ensuring the consistency of financial figures.
* Produce monthly management reporting and scorecards based on data collected from the operations.
* Conduct in-depth analyses of operations and identify performance improvement opportunities.
* Monitor costs related to all P&L items and improve process and project analyses.
* Develop and implement tools, procedures, and KPIs to improve performance.
* Identify variances between forecasts and actuals, analyse causes for deviances, and propose corrective action.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
To succeed in this role, you combine strong analytical skills with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset and the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
* Master’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Economics, or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, including Controlling in a commercial environment and/or External Audit/Consultancy experience.
* Fluent in Dutch and French, with a good command of English.
* Strong data analysis and financial modeling skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
* Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance management processes.
* Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify variances, and translate insights into concrete action plans.
* Proactive, hands-on, and solution-oriented approach, with a strong sense of ownership.
* Flexible and adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
* Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
