Our client, in partnership with internal services and a wide range of external stakeholders, is leading the development of innovative digital infrastructures enabling cloud‑to‑edge federations and next‑generation European data spaces. These solutions contribute directly to major digital transformation initiatives supported by the European Commission and play a key role in advancing interoperability, data sharing, and technological sovereignty across the EU. We are seeking a Project Manager with strong experience in agile delivery, complex programme coordination, and data‑ecosystem technologies to support the development, deployment, and operation of Simpl, the open‑source middleware powering Europe’s emerging data‑space landscape. Contract type: Employment contract or Freelancer agreement is possible, with an initial contract duration of 11 months, with possibility of extension. Workplace type: The role is primarily remote, with the requirement to be based near Brussels and available to reach the premises within two hours when necessary. Coordinate the input to be provided to the contractor(s) from an end-to-end point of view of the development cycle; Work within the agile process and take decisions regarding priority, business value, and functionality for all the work done by the agile development team. Follow a number of activities across different projects and contractors requiring technical and project management skills: understand and comply to a review process, monitor status of certain tasks, coordinate internally and gather input from within the unit, other units, or within the Simpl programme. Validate requirements taking into account the relevant data space stakeholders, like the Simpl-Live projects, but also organisations like DSSC, IDSA, Gaia-X. Propose solutions by combining IT tools and business process refactoring or improvements based on an in-depth understanding of a specific data spaces and initiatives. Review deliverable and demonstrable product version/software functionalities after every sprint. Interact with business analysts, architects, stakeholders, project leaders and the developers. Master’s degree combined with at least 10 years of relevant experience Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) -Project Management certification: Excellent Knowledge of Application Management Lifecycle. Proven ability and experience to work within a team and a multi-stakeholder's environment (with contractors/partner companies/clients). Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team. Excellent command of the English language adaptable to audiences ranging from senior management to technology specialists. High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained may contain personal and confidential data. #
