GIS Systems Expert (Mid-Level)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a GIS Systems Expert to support the development of geospatial solutions and data-driven decision-making within a large environmental and land management organization. This role combines GIS analysis, geodata management, stakeholder collaboration, and digital transformation initiatives focused on nature conservation, land development, and environmental planning.
The successful candidate will play a key role in performing spatial analyses, managing geospatial datasets, supporting GIS application development, and acting as a bridge between business teams and digital innovation initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to projects focused on biodiversity, climate adaptation, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable land management.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform GIS analyses and spatial data processing to support environmental, planning, and operational projects.
* Develop, maintain, and optimize GIS systems and geospatial data services.
* Manage and maintain geodatabases and geospatial datasets.
* Utilize geoprocessing tools to support analysis, reporting, and decision-making processes.
* Conduct geocoding, vector and raster data manipulation, data transformation, and spatial modeling activities.
* Write and optimize database queries related to geospatial data environments.
* Act as a liaison between operational business teams and digital innovation teams for geodata-driven initiatives.
* Support the development of data-driven planning and multi-year program management processes.
* Maintain and enhance internal SharePoint environments and knowledge-sharing platforms.
* Contribute to the establishment and growth of an internal geodata expert network.
* Promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and GIS adoption across the organization.
* Assist with the development and deployment of GIS applications and geospatial services.
Required Qualifications
Experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in GIS systems development and administration.
* Proven experience working with ESRI technologies, including ArcGIS Pro.
* Experience managing and maintaining geodatabases.
* Experience using geoprocessing tools and spatial analysis techniques.
* Practical experience with geocoding, vector and raster data processing, and spatial data manipulation.
* Experience writing database queries for GIS-related environments.

* Experience with programming, testing, and debugging activities.
* Knowledge of ITIL principles and service management practices.
* GIS-related certifications are considered an advantage.
