Akkodis is supporting a leading European rail systems client involved in the development and deployment of next‑generation railway signaling solutions.
We are looking for Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineers at junior, medior, and senior levels to contribute to long-term, large‑scale railway programs.
The scope of responsibilities will be adapted to your experience and offers both hands‑on technical activities and, for more senior profiles, strategic and coordination responsibilities.
Your Role
As a V&V Engineer, you will ensure that complex railway systems meet functional, performance, and safety requirements through structured verification and validation activities.
Depending on your profile, you will be involved in all or part of the V&V lifecycle, from early analysis to execution and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
(scope adapted to experience)
* Analyze system and software requirements and technical documentation
* Contribute to or define verification & validation strategies
* Design and execute test cases, test campaigns, and integration tests
* Participate in the setup and usage of test environments and test benches
* Support or lead test automation activities
* Produce V&V deliverables (test plans, procedures, reports, traceability)
* Collaborate closely with system, software, safety, and project teams
👉 For experienced profiles:
* Propose test methodologies and continuous improvements
* Contribute to planning, workload estimation, and quality objectives
* Act as a technical reference or mentor within the V&V scope
Technical Environment
* Railway signaling and control systems
* ETCS Level 2
* Interlocking and signaling principles
* System & software V&V processes
* Network communications (TCP/IP)
* Test automation and scripting
* European railway standards and best practices
Your Profile
* Engineering background or equivalent experience
* Interest or experience in railway systems or safety‑critical environments
* Understanding of verification & validation principles
* Structured, analytical, and quality‑oriented mindset
Nice to have (depending on role):
* ETCS / signaling project experience
* Test bench design or integration exposure
* Python and/or LUA for test automation
* Familiarity with CENELEC standards
* German language skills for some projects
