The Belgian subsidiary of an international group active in the creative and events industry, this fast-growing Brussels-based company operates across several European markets. With around fifteen employees, cross-border operations, and an informal, dynamic working atmosphere, the environment is both entrepreneurial and international.
Finance has not yet had a dedicated full-time owner. That is precisely what makes this role so interesting: you are stepping into a (nearly) blank page with the freedom to build something solid.
Your Responsibilities
You will take ownership of the entire accounting and administrative function of the Belgian entity, working closely with the local management team and the UK finance department.
* Full-cycle accounting: monthly closings, P&L, balance sheet, and annual accounts filing.
* Management of Belgian VAT declarations and regulatory obligations.
* Monitoring accounts receivable and payable, cash flow management, and credit control.
* HR and payroll support for around fifteen employees, in collaboration with the operations department.
* Implementation and documentation of internal financial processes and controls.
* Proactive advisory role to management regarding Belgian legal and tax obligations.
The Profile We Are Looking For
Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. Previous experience within an accounting firm is considered a strong asset.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting, with a solid understanding of Belgian taxation and ideally exposure to international or multi-currency operations.
Technical Skills: Comfortable working with Excel and an accounting ERP system (Xero, Business Central, or equivalent). An affinity for digital tools and e-invoicing is appreciated.
Languages: A strong level of English is essential, as it is the working language within the group. French or Dutch is required for local interactions.
