About the Role
A leading automotive client is seeking a skilled Level 2 Network Support Engineer to join its IT infrastructure team in Ghent. You will play a key role in maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the company’s network environment, ensuring high availability and performance across manufacturing and corporate systems.
This role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on experience in Cisco networking, routing, and switching, who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues and working in a fast-paced, production-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 2nd line support for network-related incidents and service requests
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues across LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments
* Monitor network performance and ensure optimal uptime and reliability
* Support and maintain Cisco-based infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls)
* Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 3 teams to escalate and resolve complex issues
* Perform network configuration, upgrades, and patching
* Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and problem management
* Contribute to network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
* Support ongoing infrastructure and digital transformation projects
Technical Requirements
* Strong hands-on experience with Cisco technologies
* Solid understanding of:
* Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
* Switching technologies (VLANs, STP, trunking)
* TCP/IP networking fundamentals
* Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
* You are fluent in English. Dutch is a bonus.
