Job Description
Join Capgemini as a Junior System Administrator and be part of a team responsible for a large landscape of virtual servers hosted on cloud infrastructure used to run a PeopleSoft HRIS implementation including the production environment.
Your role
· You have good knowledge of Linux system administration, preferably in Oracle Linux. Having background knowledge of the Windows ecosystem is a plus. You will support the transition from Windows to Linux as foreseen in our roadmap. You will be part of this transition plan and drive the end-to-end activities.
· You have a broad interest in infrastructure, ranging from cloud service configuration to application support and everything in between. You'll be responsible for the installation, configuration and upgrading of the HRIS system installed on the servers you manage, on the cloud platform you manage.
· You can effectively communicate to the different teams of the customer who can be Dutch or French speaking.
· You have an eye for introducing points for improvement and can automate tasks using, for example, terraform & shell scripting.
· You are aware of latest cybersecurity trends and can implement guidelines to maintain a secure infrastructure landscape.
· You can assist in creating and following a planning to roll out upgrades of the different applications to a higher version.
· You will be part of a Capgemini team working closely with the customer. Personal and professional growth are important for us, so we'll coach you in growing further.
· You will work from several locations, depending on your, our and the customer needs: from our Diegem office, from your own place and from the customer.
Your profile
· You have at least a Bachelor in an IT-oriented field. Specialization in system and network administration are a plus.
· General knowledge of (Oracle) Linux is a must
· Knowledge of public cloud platform concepts is a plus
· Knowledge of Windows ecosystem is a plus
· Knowledge of Oracle Database Administration is a plus
· Knowledge in infrastructure-as-code (e.g. terraform) is a plus
· Knowledge in shell scripting is a plus
· Fluency in English as well as Dutch or French is a must. Willingness to learn the other language is expected in the longer term
· You are client oriented and a real problem solver
· You also are a team player and have a creative mindset
