All about the role:
The Senior Internal Controls professional will support regional operations across Latin America, with particular emphasis on Central America and the Caribbean. This role ensures strong governance, effective risk management, and continuous improvement of key processes while partnering closely with cross‑functional and multicultural teams.
Where you'll be:
This role is located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
What you'll do:
Design and execute control and assurance reviews, initially focused on financial reporting and balance sheet controls, with expansion into operational areas over time.
Conduct walkthroughs and obtain supporting evidence from process owners
Identify control deficiencies and support root‑cause analysis
Assist in developing and monitoring remediation plans
Map, analyze, and redesign operational processes using Lean methodology and others to drive efficiency and standardization.
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and risk assessment matrices aligned with corporate standards.
Prepare executive‑level presentations and reports summarizing key findings, risks, and recommendations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external and internal auditors, compliance teams, and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate effectively with multicultural, remote teams across various countries and time zones.
Support monthly close activities through targeted regional reviews and balance sheet analysis
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Internal Controls and audit functions and principles (COSO frameworks).
Proven experience in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong hands-on experience and ability to self‑manage, prioritize tasks, and operate independently in a dynamic environment.
Fluency in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.
Availability to travel up to 20% throughout the year.
