This role provides legal support to Toyota Motor Europe’s digital transformation by acting as the key legal partner for the IT & Digital division. You advise on a wide range of IT‑related legal matters, draft and negotiate complex digital and technology contracts, and support strategic companywide projects in a fast‑evolving automotive environment. Team description The Legal and Compliance Team is a dynamic and internationally diverse team. It provides high quality advice to the management and the various business divisions of TME, as well as to its manufacturing and marketing affiliates in Europe. The team advises on a broad range of matters, including product liability, corporate law, privacy, IP and IT law, brand protection, competition law, contract law, environmental law and regulatory matters. The automotive industry is an exciting working environment which is undergoing major structural changes related to a.o. connected cars, autonomous driving, fuel cells, electric and hybrid vehicles or mobility as a service. Your responsibilities We are looking for a Legal Counsel to support the IT & Digital (IT&D) Division which plays a key role in driving TME’s digital transformation across Europe. In this role, you will act as the legal business partner for the IT&D Division, providing support on a wide range of IT and digital matters. This includes drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex IT-related agreements, such as software licensing, SaaS and cloud services, IT outsourcing, and development contracts. You will also support strategic, companywide projects and business initiatives in which you will work closely with managers from the business units, as well as with other colleagues from the legal team and external counsels. You will report to a Manager in the Legal and Compliance Division. You have a Master degree in Belgian or similar law (German, French, Spanish, etc). A specialisation in ICT or IP law is a plus; You have approx. 3 years of experience in an international law firm or as an in-house counsel in an international environment; You are interested in technology and innovation, with a solid understanding of IT law, digital contracts, and intellectual property; You have excellent analytical, contract drafting and negotiation skills; You are solution oriented and have good business acumen; You are a team player and easily build good relationships with people across the organisation; You have the ability to comfortably operate in a consensus-based work environment and you grasp and integrate multiple stakeholder interests; You are comfortable functioning in an international environment with colleagues from various backgrounds and regions; You are curious and interested in the business and operations of the sector; The automotive business is a rapidly evolving environment, requiring flexibility, strategic thinking and the ability to act decisively in complex digital contexts. You have excellent knowledge of English (TME business language). French, Dutch or any other European language is an asset.
