We are seeking a Junior Legal Compliance Officer for a client in Brussels :
You will ensure that our operations and business transactions adhere to all relevant legal and internal. This role will also involve reviewing employees’ work and providing compliance-related advice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing an effective legal compliance program.
- Conducting proactive audits of processes, practices, and documents.
- Educating and training employees to support the Compliance Department in ensuring adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will assist in drafting contracts, monitoring compliance with internal policies, and ensuring that company operations align with applicable regulations and the guidelines set by regulatory authorities.
To excel in this role, the candidate should be a reliable professional who is confident in expressing their opinions and standing by their decisions. Familiarity with risk management and industry is essential. A sharp business acumen is also highly.
The objective of this role is to ensure company operates in a legal and ethical manner while achieving its business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program.
- Establish sound internal and monitor adherence to them.
- Draft and revise company policies.
- Conduct proactive audits of processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses.
- Evaluate business activities (e.g., investments) to assess compliance.
- Collaborate with external auditors and HR when necessary.
- Create to address crises or compliance violations.
- Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices.
- Respond to employee concerns or questions regarding legal compliance.
- Stay updated on internal standards and business objectives.
Profile:
Proven experience as a Compliance Officer for 1 to 2 years
Expertise in risk management
Fluent in English
Knowledge of legal requirements and controls, such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards.
Strong communication skills.
Integrity and adherence to professional ethics.
Business acumen.
Ability to work effectively in a team.
Exceptional attention to detail.
A BSc/BA degree in law, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Professional certification, such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), is advantageous.
