Role & Responsibilities
Our retail operations generate millions of data points daily. Your mission is to evolve our "functional medallion-oriented" platform into a state-of-the-art Data & AI ecosystem with an enhanced Data Security Framework (RBAC + RLS + OLS). You will be the bridge between our business goals and technical execution, ensuring our pipelines are robust, our costs are optimized, and our AI capabilities are production-ready.
You will lead the technical transformation of our data platform from a monolithic "all-in-one" structure to a modern, domain-driven Lakehouse.
Main duties
You will own
* A Modern Data Architecture: Design and oversee the transition to a highly resilient Architecture using Databricks Lakeflow Spark Declarative Pipelines (SDP, ex-DLT) and Unity Catalog. Transition our 5-hour data load into a split, orchestrated, and parallelized process to ensure data is available much earlier than today.
* The Establishment of a Centralized DAX Repository to synchronize calculations across multiple semantic models, ending the "measure overload" of 1,200+ unmanaged measures.
* The Implementation of an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) with distinct DEV, UAT, and PROD environments to stop the practice of "hotfixing" directly in production.
* FinOps & Cloud Cost Management: Implement rigorous cost-management frameworks within Azure and Databricks to ensure our scaling is sustainable and ROI-focused.
* AI & ML Ops: Lead the deployment of LLMs and predictive models using Mosaic AI, ensuring we move from "cool prototypes" to "scalable business value."
* Engineering Excellence: Set the bar for CI/CD, automated monitoring (Data Quality/Observability), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) across the team.
* Data Governance: Champion the rollout of a Data Governance framework utilizing Databricks Unity Catalog. You will enforce strict RBAC, Row-Level Security (RLS), and Object-Level Security (OLS), while automating PII protection and data masking across domain-driven data products.
* Mentorship: Lead a team of Data Engineers, fostering a culture of high-quality code and proactive problem-solving.
Main Competencies
* Expert-level proficiency in Databricks (PySpark, SQL, Mosaic, SDP, Unity Catalog).
* Deep experience in Azure Cloud (Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Azure DevOps).
* Hands-on experience with MLflow, Model Serving, and integrating GenAI/LLMs into retail use cases.
* Experience with Data Observability tools (e.g., Monte Carlo, Soda) and FinOps dashboards.
* A solid understanding of how to structure data for high-performance Power BI reporting.
* DevOps/ALM: Proficiency in Git-based workflows, Databricks Asset Bundles (DAB), and deployment pipelines.
* Security Mindset: Proven track record of implementing PII protection, Data Masking, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

Profile
* A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in a similar field
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Information Technology
* Fluency in French and English
