About Merchery

Merchery is born in 2020 from the simple observation that corporate gifts and promotional products are most of the time low quality. This billion $ market is shady, and often made of products people throw away after two weeks. Our vision at Merchery is to offer beautiful, useful, and carefully sourced products that people actually want. Today, we are a team of 45 people, growing across our Brussels and Montreal offices. To support our growth and keep building a strong culture and work environment, we're looking for an HR Intern to join our People team.

Join the People team as an HR Intern...

... and be at the heart of how we build and grow our team at Merchery. As an HR Intern, your role will be to support day-to-day HR operations while also contributing to projects that shape our culture and the way we work.

You will be part of the People team, based in our Brussels office, supporting both our Brussels and Montreal teams, and contributing to how we build and scale HR across both locations.

You will work directly with our People Manager, Annabelle, who has been building the HR function over the past 4 years, from supporting leadership and structuring teams to ensuring a strong employee experience and solid HR foundations.

This is not just an administrative internship. You'll be hands-on and play an active role in both daily HR operations and key projects.

As HR Intern, your responsibilities will include:

HR operations & administration

* Support payroll preparation (Belgium & Montreal)
* Manage HR administration (contracts, absences, benefits, ...)
* Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes
* Handle HR-related payments, expenses, and documentation
* Maintain and improve HR tools and internal documentation

Office & employee experience

* Support day-to-day office management (supplies, coordination, ...)
* Contribute to creating a smooth and enjoyable work environment

Recruitment & onboarding

* Support recruitment processes (screening, follow-up, coordination)
* Assist in preparing offers and contracts
* Help deliver a high-quality onboarding experience for new hires

People support

* Help answer employee questions and improve access to HR information
* Support the team on various people-related topics

HR projects

* Contribute to HR projects (learning, culture, people development)
* Support initiatives such as manager development and internal training programs
* Help structure HR processes as the company scales
* You will contribute to ad hoc projects

Events

* Support the organization of team events

Could you be the one?

* You are currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree (HR, Business, Management or similar)
* You have a strong interest in HR and people-related topics
* You are fluent in English (French is a plus)
* You are structured and detail-oriented
* You are curious, eager to learn, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
* You are not afraid to take ownership and get things done
* You have strong organizational and administrative skills
* Your strengths are your ability to communicate, your proactivity, and your solution-oriented mindset

Our recruitment process

* Phone call – Meet Annabelle (People Manager) for a first conversation to get to know you and understand your motivations (15').
* Interview + case study – A discussion with Annabelle followed by a practical exercise.
* Founder deep dive – Final conversation with Benoit to ensure alignment on collaboration and culture.

i️ Additional information

Type of contract: Paid internship - with reimbursement of travel expenses in accordance with the current policies. The internship is only possible with an internship agreement

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Schedule: Starting ASAP in 2026 for 6 to 12 months

Applicant must possess EU work permit
