The devOps engineer enables the R&D team to create software and automate operational processes by
* Defining CI/CD pipelines for new projects.
* Simplify, stabilize and speed up the current CI/CD pipelines.
* Choose/migrate and configure tooling (SW build and package management, version control, monitoring code quality, …)
* Improve and automate the software development process and the required infrastructure.
* Carry out the devSecOps practices within the whole R&D organisation. Setup and lead the devOps guild.
* On longer term: Steer, guide and follow up devSecOps activities within the team.
The must haves for this role:
* Previous experience as a system administrator on the three major platforms (Linux, Windows, macOS), with a solid understanding of system administration concepts, networking, and security.
* Strong background as a software engineer, with proficiency in Python and in at least one of the following languages: C++, Ruby, Javascript, Groovy, Kotlin.
* Proficient in scripting languages like Bash for automation.
* Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC).
* Proven expertise in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines for software development and deployment.
* Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker (knowledge of orchestration platforms is a plus).
* Experience in working with Android build systems.
* Strong understanding of observability and monitoring tools, techniques, and best practices.
* Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git and SVN.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and within a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies/stacks.
Nice to have:
* Familiarity with embedded systems development and constraints.
* Experience with any of the major cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Understanding of agile methodologies and development practices.
