We are currently looking for a consultant to support our Active Directory migration project starting in November. Below is the job description outlining the key responsibilities and required qualifications for this role.
Key responsibilities
Develop a structured protocol to efficiently inventory the current Active Directory (AD) environment.
Validate the accuracy and relevance of inventory data to support planning for the upcoming migration.
Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders by organizing data collection and identifying key information.
Provide regular updates on inventory progress and proactively flag risks or issues.
Contribute to the proof of concept to ensure uninterrupted application access and a smooth migration experience for end users, using tools such as Quest Migrator Pro and Quest On Demand Migration.
Assist in designing the future AD architecture to consolidate multiple forests and domains into a unified structure (e.g., simplifying group nesting, consolidating GPOs).
Execute the migration of users, groups, computers, and other AD objects using Quest tools.
Administer and maintain the AD infrastructure, including domain controllers, Group Policies, Organizational Units (OUs), and AD-integrated applications.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to minimize business impact during migration.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering design, implementation, and training.
Required skills & qualifications
Strong scripting and automation skills for interacting with AD and Entra ID.
Hands-on experience with Active Directory migrations is highly desirable.
Proven expertise with Quest migration tools and AD management.
Familiarity with Quest tools such as Enterprise Reporter and GPO Admin is a plus.
Ability to independently define strategies and drive implementation.
Skilled at simplifying complex tasks and providing clear status updates.
Knowledge of Entra ID is a strong asset, given the hybrid identity setup.
Understanding of Exchange and Exchange Online is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong communication skills in both French (B2) and English (B2), essential for stakeholder engagement and documentation.
