As a Tender Engineer Offshore, you will work on a mix of technical and commercial analysis, project management and customer contacts. You will be ready for a challenging position across markets and contribute creative and technically strong solutions for complex offshore projects.
Responsibilities
* You review new project requests for offshore installations, rock dumping, dredging works or cable installation on the seabed.
* After analyzing the documents, you distil the essential information to estimate execution techniques, materials, risk factors and costs.
* You coordinate with colleagues from various support departments and use their input to draw up a technically and commercially attractive offer.
* You deliver the offer to and discuss it with the client.
* You distinguish main issues from side issues, considering technical, legal and commercial aspects, and document them clearly.
* You consult with colleagues from other departments (Legal, Financial, Technical, QHSSE, etc.) for tender inputs.
* You keep track of project costs and consult with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
* Based on gathered information and in consultation with the Tender Manager, you draw up a technical and commercial action plan.
* You are the point of contact for the client, meet with them, explain and negotiate your offer, and travel abroad if necessary.
What you need to have
* A broad, socially and commercially minded profile with technical insight; you are interested in large international projects, the offshore sector, and the energy transition.
* You obtained a Master’s degree in engineering, geology, geography or economics. Experience in the sector is not required but is an added value; the will to learn and deepen knowledge on the job is essential.
* You view challenges as opportunities to demonstrate your capabilities.
* You can extract complex information from voluminous documents, collect the required technical, legal and commercial data, and write them clearly.
* You listen well and can negotiate effectively.
* You are persistent and will complete the tender document by the deadline, pulling out all the stops if needed.
