Your Role
A good start is half the battle won. That's exactly what the
Operations Support
department stands for. Even before a dredging project begins, they ensure
thorough preparation
from the head office. Their goal? To provide the on-site project team with a complete and workable plan – the key to efficient, safe, and cost-effective execution.
In this role, you don't work on just one specific project, but you support
several mobilisation projects
across the board. You help teams properly prepare and approach their mobilisation, with a
focus on structure, standardisation, and long-term improvement
. You ensure that everyone works in an efficient, safe, and well-thought-out manner – and that this approach keeps evolving for the better.
* You support project teams in translating tender plans into clear and realistic execution plans, guiding them in the use of standards and tools.
* You coordinate with various departments to ensure everyone knows who is doing what – and when.
* You use the project management manual and other tools, and contribute ideas on how they can better reflect operational reality.
* Together with the teams, you prepare material and equipment lists, making sure nothing is overlooked.
* You assist in the start-up of mobilisation on site and ensure a smooth transition from preparation to execution.
* Do you notice recurring issues or bottlenecks across different projects? You flag these and help think of ways to improve.
* You gather best practices, help develop standards, and ensure knowledge is shared within the team and across the organisation.
* You look beyond the present: how can we further improve the way we work in the future?
What do you need?
* A bachelor's or master's degree in industrial sciences, engineering, or equivalent.
* At least eight years of operational experience on dredging projects.
* Excellent command of English, both spoken and written. Do you speak Dutch and/or additional languages? That's considered a plus.
* The essential mindset of a solution seeker.
* Strong planning and organisational skills to maintain a clear overview of ongoing projects and deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills, enabling you to easily build new connections and collaborate with various departments and colleagues.
* You are willing to travel abroad occasionally to support the handover or start-up of a project on site.
