Hauptaufgaben
As a Health Care Coordinator, you will provide assistance regarding referral management, claims, customer service and resource identification. As the subject matter expert regarding healthcare regulations and procedures, you will advise Management on issues regarding a various type of beneficiary referral issues and will be the health care benefits advisor for the SHAPE population.
You will perform the following duties:
- Receive requests from healthcare beneficiaries and review them for completeness. Respond to health benefits questions and provide health benefits program regulation and policy information.
- Counsel, advise and train on the various US healthcare programs and overseas options. Provide necessary forms and assist beneficiaries in completing them.
- Serve as liaison with the different health insurances services. You will disseminate information to beneficiaries and health care providers concerning available benefits programs as well as providing referrals services, explanations regarding benefits and resolutions to the customers problems.
-Receive, log, and process requests for medical care at local civilian facilities and verify eligibility of patients to received care. You will also process the paperwork to provide health care services under the health insurances programs.
-Estimate costs of required medical care, establish and maintain contact with local care facilities to facilitate billings and payments as well as to reconcile differences and to ensure timely billing.
-Identify and contact multiple sources of care within community, obtain estimates costs, find the least cost and most convenient source, maintain and updates current database of their location and relative costs per procedure.
- Contact local hospitals and military hospitals in Belgium, Holland, Germany and the US to make appointments for patients within the standards and according to requirements of the consultation, considering the timeless and costs effectiveness of slots available.
- Perform a variety of administrative duties (receive and answer telephone calls, office visitors and/or refer callers to pertinent staff, prepare correspondences, comply and maintain reports, translate and interpret, …)
-Telephonically assist patients hospitalized in host nation facilities as well as assisting in planning the admission/discharge of patents from host nation hospital and in the arrangements for the transfer of patients to and Belgian hospitals.

• PROFILE
At grade BA 05
1. EXPERIENCE
Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of creditable experience that is at least equivalent to the next lower grade level (BA 04). Creditable experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
2. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE
A High Secondary School diploma degree is qualifying at the BA-05 level.
At grade BA 06
1. EXPERIENCE
Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of experience in the same or a similar line of work as the job for which considered.
The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position, as described in the last section of this announcement. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty one level below the position to be filled (BA05)
2. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor degree successfully completed in a related field (in the medical field) is qualifying at the BA-06 level.
At grade BA 07
1. EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor degree successfully completed in a related field (in the medical field) is qualifying at the BA-07 level.
Foreign education must be officially evaluated for Belgian equivalency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA's)
Qualifying for the BA-06:
- Ability to review medical documents for completeness and accuracy, verify eligibility of patients and process the requests.
- Ability to assist with form completion and informing customers on allowances and benefits offered by the healthcare programs.
- Knowledge of the functions of a medical treatment facility, inpatient and outpatient services, and other medical services in Belgium and of clinic procedures for scheduling patient appointments.
- Analytical skill to collect, extract and organize data for medical reports and analyze the information.
In addition to the KSAs at the BA-06, qualifying for the BA-07:
- Ability to give advice, trainings and briefings to customers and local providers on the health insurance benefits.
- Extensive knowledge of entitlements and benefits of the different health insurance programs to research, interpret and provide guidance to beneficiaries and providers on a wide range of health care programs questions
- Ability to evaluate the costs effectiveness of different offers and medical cares.
- Skills in understanding, explaining and applicating policies and regulations to answer various inquiries from customers, local providers or managers.

• ORGANIZATION AND PLACE OF DUTY
US Army in Belgium is an American government agency whose mission is to provide logistical and administrative support to the US personnel at NATO and SHAPE in Belgium.
The SHAPE Healthcare Facility is an outpatient clinic that provides non-emergency medical services to the SHAPE Community.
• DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
- Permanent, full-time (38 hours/week).
- Regular work schedule (Monday through Friday).

*From 3,346.77 EUR gross/month at BA 05
*From 3,668.06 EUR gross/month at BA 06
*From 4,019.83 EUR gross/month at BA 07
This is a developmental position/entry trainee level position leading to the full performance level (BA-07). At management's request, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next grade level, provided that he/she has completed the required training and meets all regulatory and qualification requirements.

The SELECTEE will:
