To strengthen our Business Information Systems team, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Global BIS Finance Lead, based in Ghent (Belgium).
Purpose of the function:
1. The Global BIS Finance Lead is the single point of accountability for strategy and implementation for all data, processes and systems, to address the business requirements and challenges of the Finance organisation, ensuring operational effectiveness and efficient financial operations worldwide. The individual in this role is a key strategic leader within the BIS team.
2. The BIS Finance Lead leverages existing capabilities within Oracle and third party systems, and builds new capabilities as required, to automate finance processes, to improve compliance, and to maximise the value of corporate data. The person in this role partners with the Finance Leads, Technology Leads, and Service Providers to jointly define the processes, design the technology architecture, and configure the systems that are essential to deliver therapies to markets and transform the lives of patients.

Roles and Responsibilities:
4. Establish strong relationships with all levels of the Finance organization and with Service Providers to deliver value-added solutions that work at both the strategic and operational levels.
5. Establish governance processes, define an annual portfolio of projects, contract resources, and oversee implementation to deliver business outcomes that positively impact the effectiveness of the Finance organization, and enhance the ability of argenx to execute globally.
6. Work with technology vendors, consultants, and SMEs to deliver business process improvements and technology solutions aligned with objectives and that add value to argenx.
7. Ensure that Oracle and other third-party systems operate seamlessly within a consistent technology architecture to support current processes, to address challenges, and to scale for growth and complexity.
8. In collaboration with business leads and SMEs, lead strategy, define BIS service and portfolio priorities, and contribute to the jointly defined business outcomes.
9. Maintain an overall understanding of industry landscape and the direction and strategy of the Finance team to ensure progress on the right priorities. Understand and anticipate strategic, market, operational information and technology needs of the Finance area.
10. Respond and communicate as both tactical and strategic issues come up with the overall set of BIS technology solutions and services that are used across Finance and connected teams, with internal and external partners.
11. Lead support services in relation with service providers, monitor SLAs, manage escalations, follow-up on issues, etc.
Skills & Competencies:
12. Understanding of the industry landscape and global regulatory requirements (e.g. SOX, IFRS, General Controls, etc.).
13. Strong understanding of the Finance functional areas including accounting, FP&A, tax, internal controls, reporting, T&E, treasury, and supply chain execution.
14. Understanding of general information technology.
15. Advanced understanding of Oracle technologies in the Finance functional areas including:Oracle ERP Fusion Cloud (Finance, Procurement, PPM, Supply Chain).Oracle EPM (FCCS, PBCS, TM, ARCS, TRCS, EDM).Oracle FDI.Oracle OIC.Oracle IDCS.
16. Optional understanding of third party systems including Kyriba, Workiva, Concur, Appzen and Fastpath.
Education, experiece and qualifications:
17. Direct, substantial experience implementing Oracle technology solutions in Finance.
18. Experience overseeing Information services and systems globally.
19. Experience managing geographically distributed teams in an outsourced environment. Demonstrated ability to work and influence at multiple levels within multidisciplinary and matrixed organization.
20. Degree in Information Technology, Finance or combination of degree and related experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications.
21. Minimum of 15 years working in technology roles for the Finance function.
