Job Description
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high‑precision mechanical components and systems for custom‑built test and measurement solutions. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams from concept to assembly, ensuring technical excellence and practical functionality.
In this role you will
* Translate customer requirements into robust mechanical designs
* Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings
* Select materials and components suited for high‑precision work
* Collaborate with electrical, software, and automation engineers
* Support the build, assembly, and testing phases, making adjustments where needed
* Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
* Ensure designs meet quality, cost, and timeline targets
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent by experience)
* At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in precision engineering or special machinery
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks & Inventor)
* Proven experience working with high precision and fine mechanical tolerances, including the use of micrometers
* Broad technical knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques
* Hands‑on mindset, eager to be involved in both design and practical implementation
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
* Knowledge of motion systems
* Fluent in Dutch and English
* Willing to travel occasionally (up to 10%)
