Mission
Within the Metallurgy Quality Europe department, the Metallurgy Industrialisation Engineer is responsible for managing the industrialisation projects for new products.
Main Accountabilities
In close collaboration with Aperam Europe's upstream and downstream quality teams, R&D, Sales, Development, and Customer Services, the Metallurgy Industrialisation Engineer is responsible for:
* Setting up the metallurgical route (chemical analysis, choice of tools and processes) from the melting shops to the finishing lines, relying on the operating teams (Steel mills, hot strip mill, and cold rolling mill) and the R&D team
* Identifying and mitigating risks using the PFMEA/HAZOP methodology
* Assessing cost, manpower, and industrial resource requirements
* Preparing necessary deliverables and proposals for the validation of milestones in dedicated committees, including cost analyses, performance and industrial capacity analyses, and risk management
* Defining relevant KPIs and prerequisites to validate industrialisation
* Preparing, monitoring, and analyzing industrial test results
* Managing the projects and reporting to the community (operations, sales and marketing, innovation, and R&D)
* Improvement support and monitoring of the new products
Profile
* Master's degree in materials science engineering or a related applied science field
* Strong project management skills, with experience in product development being a plus
* Excellent team player and communicator
* Highly organized and autonomous
* Knowledge of upstream and downstream processes, or a willingness to learn them
* Knowledge of stainless steels and their defectology is a plus
* Proficient in data processing
* comfortable with IT/programming environments such as SQL, SAS, VBA, Gscript, Python, PowerBI, and Excel (or a willingness to learn)
* Strong analytical skills and knowledge of statistical analysis and tools
* Experience with problem-solving tools and their application in work
* Fluent in English: knowledge of French/Dutch is a plus
