About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Deputy Team Leader – Geotechnical Core Logging. In this role, you will oversee the core logging areas in the geotechnical laboratory, ensuring the highest standards of safety and testing.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and Coordinate: Manage the day-to-day supervision of all staff in the core logging areas.
* Technical Support: Provide technical support for core logging equipment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
* Team Leadership: Lead and perform core logging and associated testing to the highest levels of safety and testing standards.
* Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with company procedures, health, safety, and quality policies.
* Resource Management: Train staff in safe and reliable logging methods and ensure all equipment is working, calibrated, and fit-for-purpose.
* Continuous Improvement: Participate in the continuous improvement process of practices.
Requirements
* Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience.
* Technical Insight: Knowledge of technical standards for relevant tests and laboratory equipment maintenance, operation, and calibration.
* Language Proficiency: Proficient in English.
* Management Experience: Experience in leading medium to large teams is an asset.
* Interpersonal Skills: Good verbal communication skills with staff at all levels, good organizational skills, and good team working skills.
* IT Skills: Competent in the use of Excel and emails.
