Deadline Date: Friday 19 December 2025 Requirement: Principal Technician (VTC/AV) Location: The Hague, NETHERLANDS Full Time On-Site: Yes Time On-Site: 100% Not to Exceed Rate: 65 EUR Total Scope of the request (hours): 836 Required Start Date: 19 January 2026 End Contract Date: 31 December 2026 Required Security Clearance: NATO SECRET Duties & Role: Under the direction of the Digital Events Manager, the incumbent will perform duties including: Set up and manage the AV infrastructure for digital meetings and events; from AV equipment to streaming and recording. Write, plan and execute a full AV implementation plan in alignment with customers, providing excellent customer service and communication; Prepare and manage a (mobile) streaming studio including videowalls, greenscreen, etc. Create and write a technical plan and Run of Show for larger digital/hybrid conferences and events. Instruct and supervise a technical team during larger digital/hybrid conferences and events. Set up, configure and operate PTZ cameras using NDI protocol. Design and create jingle's, banners, and other digital signage required for digital events and meetings Provide first level support and trouble shooting for customers experiencing issues with conference scheduling, videobridging, recording etc. Identify, verify and diagnose suspected trouble AV/VTC Resources and Services through monitoring; Deputize for higher grade staff, if required; Perform other duties as may be required. Specific Working Conditions: Business travel to NATO and national (NATO and non-NATO) facilities as well as frequent travel between the NCIA offices; May be required to undertake duty travel to operational theatres inside and outside NATO boundaries. Requirements Skill, Knowledge & Experience: The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance Higher training in a relevant discipline (such as Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering) At least 5 years of professional AV experience, with a strong focus on sound mixing for live events and TV productions. Experienced in setup, configuration and operation of PTZ cameras using NDI protocol. Proficient in video control systems such as Blackmagic as well as production systems like vMix for live switching and content management. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience delivering live digital and hybrid events on streaming platforms such as Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Sype. Experience in leading a team of AV technicians during live digital/hybrid events and meetings. Ability to configure, install and troubleshoot industry standard collaboration services from both Poly, Cisco etc. including Poly RMX, Poly DMA and Poly RPRM; Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements; Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including Allied Command Operations and Allied Command Transformation. Language Proficiency: A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable. NOTE: Most of the work of the NCIA is conducted in the English language.
