We’re looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Engineer (freelancer) to join a leading telecommunications and digital services company in Brussels. You’ll help implement an enterprise-wide data warehouse blueprint and shape a modern, scalable data platform built on Data Vault 2.0 principles.
This is a long-term freelance role within a dynamic, forward-thinking data team, driving the delivery of high-impact analytics solutions.

* Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

Core Responsibilities
* Implement prioritised business use cases based on the enterprise data warehouse blueprint.
* Develop and maintain a Data Vault-based warehouse using VaultSpeed or similar tools.
* Write and optimise complex SQL queries for data processing and reporting.
* Ensure adherence to governance, quality, and security standards.
* Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders to bring the reference architecture to life.
* Troubleshoot and resolve data ingestion and transformation issues.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Data Warehouse Engineer or similar.
* Strong Data Vault modelling and implementation skills.
* Advanced SQL proficiency (tuning, joins, window functions).
* Solid understanding of ETL/ELT and data integration patterns.
* Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or Redshift.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset; experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice to Have
* Experience with VaultSpeed or other automation tools.
* Familiarity with GCP, CI/CD pipelines, and data governance frameworks.
* Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
