We are looking for a connectivity engineer with networking background. You will join a larger team that develops requirements and introduces advanced embedded CPE connectivity devices. You will use advanced lab methods, integrate insights from field data, and work closely with product and operational teams. This will be for residential markets, especially new products for the southern area of Belgium.
You will be working independently in the CPE Engineering team, within the Connectivity cluster. You will lead BASE's technical solutions, including Docsis, FFTH, Wi-Fi, and other related CPE technologies. Managing technical stakeholders is a key responsibility as our connectivity engineer.
Your tasks as our Connectivity Engineer
1. Together work out new or improve the current solutions with quality and product items within the Connectivity Cluster.
2. Maintain and build the CPE and technical roadmap in collaboration with wholesale partners. Focus especially on BASE south, including Orange and VOO networks.
3. Analyze and enhance User Experience quality in technical areas like packet loss, latency, jitter, queuing, congestion, and installation aspects.
4. Develop, deliver, and test high-quality technical CPE solutions while staying within budget. Use Telenet's advanced lab and test teams for insights.
5. Manage software and hardware aspects with external OEM and silicon vendors as related to BASE.
6. Explore emerging tech trends and advancements to create efficient, sustainable, and affordable solutions in designated technical domains. Define new technologies and services, examine business needs, and convert them into technical guidelines and roadmaps.
7. Act as a specialist in one or more technical areas. As a specialist, you'll guide and train both internal and external departments on explicit queries or tasks. Also, create and provide the needed documentation.
8. Define, execute, document, and coordinate acceptance and regression tests when enrolling new or existing products, services, or infrastructure.
9. Vendor management involves selecting and evaluating vendors. Work with vendors and negotiate using RFP, RFI, and RFQ. This helps get the best quality materials, products, and services at competitive prices. Monitor the supply /replenishment/ price of materials or licenses and manage the product life cycle.
10. Help with designing or enhancing operational performance by defining KPIs, implementing strategies, and monitoring network performance and user experience. Focus on the capacity, functionality, and sustainability of service components, including CPE hardware, software, and end-to-end network aspects.

Your profile as our Connectivity Engineer
15. Bachelor’s degree in electrical, industrial or computer network engineering. Or relevant experience.
16. Network systems/engineering experience in layer 3/ layer 2 / MAC / physical layer systems, network protocols and related communications theory.
17. Wireless, modem and network Key Performance Indicators and performance debugging experience, analytical and problem-solving experience.
18. Developer experience for coding in scripting, SQL, Python and related tooling for automation or embedded systems.
19. Strong knowledge of English (verbally & written). French language skills is a plus.
