About the role
As Belgian Government Affairs Manager you will be responsible for the development, monitoring and implementation of government affairs activities. You will build a company profile through targeted engagements and contribute to business objectives supporting the development of the right policy environment.
About the responsibilities
* Develop and execute government affairs plans to build trust with government stakeholders and support the right policy environment.
* Monitor legislative and regulatory activities at the local, regional, and federal levels, and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.
* Build and maintain strong personal network with key policy stakeholders across the government, public sector, and industry.
* Represent our organization at meetings, working groups, and other relevant events to ensure our voice is heard and our specific needs are addressed.
* Collaborate with internal teams to analyze the impact of proposed regulations and legislation on our organization and develop/write appropriate positions and action plans.
* Conduct research and monitor development of the policy environment and track development within the government(s) that could impact the healthcare sector and GSK activities in Belgium specifically.
* Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other materials to effectively communicate our organization's positions and priorities to government officials and other stakeholders.
* Engage in coalition building and partnership development with other organizations and industry groups to amplify our advocacy efforts.
* Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in government affairs to continuously improve our strategies and approaches.
The Government Affairs Manager will spend at least 50% of its time in external engagement supporting short- and long‑term business objectives.
About you
* Min. bachelor degree with at least 5 years of experience or master’s degree.
* Perfectly fluent (oral and written) in Dutch and French, and business knowledge in English.
* Strong established network and relationships with key stakeholders in the government and advocacy community.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field.
* Proven track record of successfully advocating for an organization’s interests in government settings and implementing successful government affairs strategies.
* In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting the industry.
* Previous experience working with government officials and policymakers at various levels.
* Strong knowledge of government processes, legislative and regulatory frameworks, and public policy issues.
