CONTEXT
MSF Operational Center Brussels supports more than 150 projects around the world with over 6000 operational people requiring ICT technology and data as support for their daily work. Our ICT systems are vital in ensuring smooth operations and transparency in our work.
MSF's OCB projects worldwide require a robust ICT ecosystem to operate effectively and efficiently.
Driven by MSF operational contexts, the ICT Unit implements and supports a field-inspired and user-centred ICT Strategy that aims to drive MSF towards digitally enabled humanitarian operations.
As Application Support Engineer, you will provide application technical support (2nd and 3rd line of support) and to oversee the installation and maintenance of designated applications for both HQ and field. This includes giving the necessary training and documentation to users as well as designing and implementing solutions that will enhance the quality of the support in coordination with the different teams of ICT Unit.
The primary focus of this role is the support of Unifield, an Information System that integrates finance and supply processes, and is shared by all coordination teams and projects across the movement (in-house developed system based on OpenERP).
In addition to this main focus, the scope might be extended to include support for other applications, if need be.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the support of designated applications
- Support the design, development and testing of new features in designated applications
- Resolve bugs in existing systems and, when relevant, develop proposals for system replacement or enhancement
- Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of documentation and training materials
- Manage the full application lifecycle: deployment, maintenance, upgrades, decommissioning
- Act as the point of contact with application providers for strategic collaboration and product evolution
- Collaborate with domain experts and user representatives to gain a deep understanding of user needs and the role of applications within the MSF application landscape

*Due to legal administrative constraints, given the duration of the contract, candidates must already be resident in Belgium or have a residence right as a worker in Belgium or in the European Union allowing to move and work in the EU

- Salary according to MSF-OCB HQ grid
