FPGA ENGINEER - BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITIONAs an FPGA Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing the digital logic that powers our next-generation space systems. From real-time onboard processing for satellites to radiation-tolerant control systems for deep space missions, your work will be central to the success and reliability of our flight hardware.This position offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical systems deployed in some of the most demanding environments imaginable - space. You’ll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team working alongside systems engineers, hardware designers, software developers, and mission specialists. If you're passionate about digital design and ready to build systems that are truly out of this world, we’d love to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and verify FPGA-based digital systems for space applications.Develop VHDL/Verilog code for high-reliability space-grade systems.Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software teams to define FPGA architecture and interfaces.Simulate and validate designs using tools such as ModelSim, QuestaSim, or Vivado.Implement radiation-tolerant design techniques and timing closure strategies for harsh environments.Integrate FPGAs with board-level hardware and contribute to bring-up and debugging.Generate documentation to support design reviews, testing, and regulatory compliance.Support end-to-end development from concept to space qualification and launch-readiness.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.3+ years of experience in FPGA design and development.Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog, synthesis tools (Vivado, Quartus, Libero), and simulation environments.Experience with FPGA platforms (e.g., Xilinx, Microsemi/Actel, Intel/Altera).Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals, clock domains, and high-speed interfaces.Familiarity with radiation effects on electronics (SEE, TID) and mitigation strategies.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.The Offer:A permanent, full-time employment contractA salary & benefits package commensurate with experiencePlease send over your CV to tom.walker@vividresourcing.com or call me on +32 (0) 3 318 00 74.
