We are recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel Sustainability, based in Belgium (Brussels, Aartselaar or Waregem) to join our Global Legal Team and provide legal and compliance support to our European operations. How You Will Contribute
As a Senior Legal Counsel Sustainability, you will deliver legal, regulatory, and compliance services, acting as a key business partner to provide strategic support and advice. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing and reviewing contracts and terms and conditions, supporting negotiations
2. Preparing templates
3. Providing claims support and overseeing litigations
4. Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and Group policies
5. Providing training and facilitating our compliance programs
6. Monitoring and implementing regulatory requirements
7. Offering other local legal support as reasonably required by Legal Management

* Regular travel within the Benelux and UKI
* Occasional travel to other locations in Europe as business needs arise

Your Profile
We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable working in a digital environment, passionate about social justice and sustainability, and eager to work in an international company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in an in-house environment and be able to work proactively with business stakeholders to identify and analyze critical business issues, applying legal expertise to deliver solutions.
Qualifications
1. Fully qualified lawyer authorized to practice in Belgium with a Master of Laws degree or equivalent
2. At least seven (7) years' relevant PQE in environmental law (including ESG), commercial law, and regulatory, preferably in the Hi-tech, Oil & Energy, Construction, or Renewables & Environment sectors
3. Fluent in English and Dutch with excellent technological skills
4. Confident with fantastic interpersonal skills, commercially minded, highly organized, and able to work effectively in teams
5. Able to work independently and manage large volumes of work
