About EURIMA

Eurima (European Insulation Manufacturers Association) represents the interests of all major mineral wool producers throughout Europe (Saint-Gobain Isover, Rockwool International, Knauf Insulation, Ursa, Paroc/ Owens Corning, Sager, Fibran, and Kingspan).

The organisation was established over 60 years ago to promote improved standards and regulations for the use of insulation materials. Over the past years, we have become a recognised stakeholder in the EU energy, climate and sustainable construction debate focusing on the contribution of energy efficiency in buildings to avoid energy wastage, supporting the renovation of our EU building stock to mitigate greenhouse gases, increase energy security, and stimulate green growth and employment in the construction sector.

The role

EURIMA is seeking an trainee to support its work on sustainability, circular economy and industrial policy, with a particular waste policy and product sustainability.
As discussions on
decarbonisation and circularity become increasingly interconnected at EU level
, EURIMA is reinforcing its cross-cutting approach across policy areas.

This internship is suited to candidates with a strong technical or environmental background and a keen interest in EU policy developments related to construction products, circularity, decarbonisation and environmental regulation.

The intern will provide
cross-cutting support to both the Sustainable Construction Committee (SCC) and the Industrial & Policy Committee (IPC),
contributing to workstreams on circular economy, waste policy, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), as well as broader industry-related and decarbonisation priorities. The role reflects the growing alignment between sustainability requirements, circular economy objectives, and industrial policy frameworks at EU level.

Knowledge of LCA is a strong asset, alongside an interest in the evolving links between sustainability requirements, industrial competitiveness and EU regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

The intern will contribute to EURIMA's technical and regulatory activities, including:

* Monitoring and analysing EU legislation and policy developments on circular economy, waste, resource efficiency and industrial policy, including the forthcoming Circular Economy Act
* Supporting the association's work related to the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED), including follow-up of secondary legislation and implementation measures, as well as coordination of technical input in the context of BREF and related processes
* Analysing EU policy and regulatory developments relevant to construction products and insulation materials
* Contributing to position papers, consultation responses and stakeholder outreach activities
* Tracking regulatory developments and preparing internal updates ahead of technical forums, Commission expert groups and working groups
* Preparing technical briefings, background notes and presentations
* Supporting the organisation and follow-up of working groups and committee meetings (SCC and IPC)
* Conducting ad hoc research and analytical tasks as required

Profile

· Strong interest in circular economy, product sustainability, industrial decarbonisation and waste management

· Master's degree (completed or ongoing) in political science, EU studies, environmental policy, engineering, environmental sciences, materials science, architecture or a related field

· Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to understand and synthesise complex technical and regulatory information

· Knowledge of the construction sector, including building design, material performance and regulatory requirements; experience in architecture or related disciplines is an asset

· Ability to work independently, proactively and in a structured, methodical manner

· Very good command of English; additional EU languages are an asset

· Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA); familiarity with environmental performance methodologies is a strong asset

· Understanding of EU standards, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and industrial regulatory frameworks (e.g. IED) is an asset

· Based in Brussels

Conditions

In line with Belgian legislation, EURIMA offers a monthly reimbursement of expenses and a "Convention d'Immersion Professionnelle" (CIP) contract with Bruxelles Formation.
