The Role: HR Officer
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate HR Officer to be the welcoming first point of contact for all employees. This role is about building trust, ensuring smooth experiences, and being the kind of team member that others can count on.
Responsibilities
* Be the friendly and reliable first point of contact for all HR and general payroll-related questions.
* Ensure employee files and HR systems are always accurate and up-to-date.
* Prepare documents such as contracts, letters, onboarding packs, and more.
* Handle the onboarding experience from tech and benefits to welcome moments.
* Support with performance and development tracking (including long-service awards).
* Stay on top of compliance keeping legal documents, internal rules, and work permits current.
* Help track HR KPIs and policies.
* Be a key link to our insurance partners and help coordinate accident follow-ups.
* Provide guidance on social legislation and HR procedures always with a personal touch.
* Support employee representative conversations and labor party negotiations.
* Collaborate with the HR Manager on national and international projects.

Must-Haves
* 2-3 years in a similar HR role with experience in HR administration and HR support.
* Solid understanding of Belgian social legislation and basic payroll knowledge.
* A proactive, hands-on, organized, and solution-oriented mindset.
* Reliable, personable, discrete team player who can also work autonomously.
* Flexible and eager to learn.
* Excellent communication skills in Dutch, French, and English.
* Familiarity with MS Office and HR tools.
* Willing to travel 1 or 2 days a month.
* Experience with unions and social elections is an asset.
