We are seeking a Category Buyer to support project-based procurement activities under the guidance of a Global Category Manager.
This role requires a engineer with strong expertise across mechanical and electrical domains, with 7–10 years of experience. The successful candidate will manage procurement processes across multiple categories and contribute to the delivery of complex industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute project-based procurement across assigned categories
* Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure timely and accurate purchasing
* Lead contract negotiations through to Purchase Order issuance
* Source, assess, and manage suppliers, primarily in Asia and internationally
* Procure a range of components including mechanical parts, electrical systems, and PCUs
* Manage purchasing of automation systems including PLCs, programmable PCUs, and electrical cabinets
* Ensure on-time provisioning and alignment with project requirements
* Conduct occasional site visits within Europe as needed
Experience & Skills:
* Engineering background with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
* 7 - 10 years of experience in industrial procurement or technical buying
* Proven experience with:
* Electrical systems (medium and high voltage)
* Skid-mounted system procurement and on-site assembly
* Procurement for infrastructure and industrial projects (e.g., oil & gas, power plants)
* Proficient in negotiating technical contracts and managing supplier relationships
* Experience with procurement of automated systems and installation hardware
