Hospitality Talents, a recruitment agency specialized in Hospitality profiles, is currently looking for an experienced Assistant Director of Finance for the HQ of our client in Ghent.

With an expanding portfolio of hotels across various locations, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their vibrant team in Ghent.
As the Assistant Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our client. You will lead the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations, while providing essential financial insights to support their business decisions. Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
* Lead, train, and develop the accounting team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality financial reporting. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
* Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights and analysis. Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
* Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles. Manage external audits and resolve audit findings promptly.
* Oversee the timely and accurate processing of payments and receipts, ensuring the reconciliation of all accounts.
* Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
* Provide regular financial reports and analysis to senior management and stakeholders, advising on financial performance, trends, and optimization opportunities.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA are preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
* Proficient in accounting software (experience with ERP systems is a plus). Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations. Advanced Excel skills.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
* Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Proficiency in Dutch strongly desired.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
