Job Description: Wide Format Print Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wide Format Print Specialist to join our team. As a Wide Format Print Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining wide-format printers, as well as handling finishing and laminating tasks. Your expertise in printing technology and attention to quality will be crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality wide format prints.
Responsibilities
Operate and Maintain Wide-Format Printers:
Set up and operate large-format printers to produce high-resolution prints.
Monitor print quality, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
Ensure proper ink levels, paper alignment, and color calibration.
Laminating and Finishing:
Operate and maintain finishing equipment, including laminators, cutters, and trimmers.
Laminate wide format prints to enhance durability and protect against environmental factors.
Trim and finish prints according to specifications.
Work Order Management:
Accept work orders or printing requests from clients or internal teams.
Obtain designer proofs and clarify specifications.
Complete work orders accurately for billing purposes.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished prints for defects, color accuracy, and adherence to standards.
Ensure that laminated prints meet quality expectations.
Collaboration and Communication:
Coordinate with designers, and production teams to meet project deadlines.
Communicate effectively regarding job status, materials, and any issues.
Health and Safety:
Adhere to safety protocols when operating machinery and handling materials.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
Experience:
Previous experience operating wide-format printers and handling laminating tasks is preferred.
Familiarity with various print materials and substrates.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to maintain precision and quality throughout the printing and finishing process.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating large-format printers and finishing equipment.
Basic troubleshooting skills for printer-related issues.
Communication Skills:
Clear communication in English with team members, and supervisors. We are a multi-location company and English is our main language to communicate in.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage work orders, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Safety Awareness:
Knowledge of safety procedures when working with machinery and chemicals.
