Our Brussels-based House of Communication (labeled Great Place to Work) is looking for a Senior Business Controller to join its team of around 110 employees and support the agency in serving clients such as: Argenta, ALDI, BMW, C&A, Decathlon, L’Oréal, Mars, Mini, Nikon, and many others. As a Senior Business Controller, you will be the right hand of the CFO and will act as a financial business partner to senior leadership, driving performance through insightful analysis, strategic forecasting, and financial optimization. You will lead the financial planning and analysis activities across departments and client portfolios, ensuring that key decisions are grounded in financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting process across multiple business units.
* Analyze profitability by client, campaign, and service line; identify revenue and margin improvement opportunities.
* Alongside the CFO, prepare and present financial reports and performance updates to senior leadership & Group Control / Finance / Treasury.
* Alongside the CFO, drive automation and improvements in controlling tools and reporting processes (including very soon the adaptation for PEPPOL and automation of the recording of the purchase invoices).
* Support commercial negotiations and pricing strategies with financial modeling, including preparation of pitches / tenders.
* Monitor key KPIs: net revenue, utilization, billability, overhead ratios, etc.
* Ensure accurate cost allocation, project tracking, and compliance with agency accounting standards.
* Mentor and guide junior/medior controllers & accountants within the team.
* Collaborate with global/regional finance teams on consolidated reporting and strategy alignment.
* Follow-up of the A/R balance & Credit collection with the Team’s assistance.
* Cover intercompany reconciliation with our partners companies around the world on a regular basis and for the quarterly consolidated accounts .
* Computation, organization, follow-up of intercompany re-billing and ensure completeness.
Requirements and Qualifications
* A degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
* At least 6 years of experience in financial/business controlling or accounting.
* Strong Excel skills; proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Maconomy, Eurojob.
* Knowledge of project-based accounting and revenue recognition in a service business is a “plus”.
* Commitment and will to participate to a great project and make things move forward.
* Fluent in Dutch or French as well as English.
