POLITICO's events team in Europe is seeking to expand its team dedicated to creating impactful live journalism in dynamic and engaging settings. We are seeking a creative and collaborative colleague to help build out a world class production team. The production associate is in charge of the day-to-day production planning and execution of a selection of our events with a focus on policy events, but with the exciting opportunity to deliver on all event formats including summits, multi-sponsor events, capstone moments and Pro events. The Production Associate reports to the Executive Director.
What You'll Do
* Scouting venues and providers
* Presenting the selection of providers to the production director to retain the best and most cost-effective providers
* Populating the events' budgets, making sure with the production director's oversight that they stay within targeted margins
* Owning the event's production timeline, managed through a project management tool, ensuring the event is delivered within deadlines
* Collaborating with the Director of Production and the Executive Director on creative concepts to bring our journalism to life
* Briefing and coordinating all providers and event staff
* Coordinating with Live editorial and audience team members to ensure production elements match programming and audience expectations
* Coordinating with Client Solutions on client requirements and client logistical briefings (brand plan, client set up, deliveries, etc)
* Working with and briefing the design team on each event's visual identity and output requirements with sustainable deadlines
* Coordinating set up on and logistical delivery on the day.
What You'll Need
* 2+ years of experience in event management and/or production
* English a must and either French or Dutch a strong plus
* Interest in politics and policy
* Team player who likes working in a highly-collaborative environment
